Lend me your ear for a moment…
In order to help you understand perhaps a little better I’ll tell you a very brief story. I know an 83-year-old lady who was brought up during the war in a time of rationing and who has been conditioned not to borrow and instead to save everything for her future. She was married but sadly her husband died of cancer at just 65 before they had TIME to start spending their money. As a result, she now has too much money and won’t spend a penny.
So you see, they worked very hard and never had TIME to enjoy their wealth together. This is because they saved too much and he died too soon. A proper financial planner would have taught them that there has to be balance – enjoy some of your earnings now while you have TIME and invest some for your future in case you are blessed with longevity…but they never got this advice.
This is the story of my mum and dad, which is why I do what I do, and this is the ethos for the entire team. If you’re interested in finding out more about pensions or investments, I’m supported here in the office by Marion M, Matt G, Jayne E, Lucy G and Sara H and you can speak to any of us on 0118 327 9895 – I’m TIM E by the way!
